ANTIQUE CHINESE SCROLL

Whole family of Twelve Women and Twelve Men in Classic Ming costume.  The patriarch of the family is a high-ranking Mandarin General.  The old scroll was deteriorating and in order to preserve, was cut out and remounted 120 to 130 years ago.  The newer mounting was crudely painted, as can be seen in the example of the painted curtains at the top.  Museum mounted.
